1. The fact that I was going to a women's retreat (even only for a day) with my sister who absolutely hates women's retreats.
2. The inspiration of Godly women combining faith and fitness! Two things I love!
After years of being involved with Christian Women's Retreats, this was my first retreat where I actually got to have a exercise class and enjoy a nutrition workshop.
Friends please don't neglect your temple. I think it is time we add some essentials to our Godly living,
Bible time, Fellowship, prayer, discipleship, and exercise!
Another blessing of the day was taking part in my first real CrossFit class with my sister and her amazing friend and business partner AMY NEAL from Yucaipa CrossFit.
*May I also just note here, it is not about what program you are doing, ie. yoga, zumba, crossFit, Running, Insanity, etc. it is about DOING a program!
I was pleasantly surprised with Amy's thorough instruction on what CrossFit really is, and completely impressed with her knowledge of the sport! Not to mention that she was doing CrossFit in her garage before it became "Cool". She is an inspiring coach and teacher, and FUN to work out with ! My favorite part of Amy's lesson was when she said, " We are a box where your grandma does CrossFit", in other words, those of you who are afraid you won't be able to do it? WRONG! Everyone can do it! It's all about body mobility and getting all of your muscles working!
(It's been 3 days and some of those muscles are still hurting! Good job!)
My ultimate fave part of the day was watching my sister in her element and sharing her passion for fitness with others. She is determined to see Women's lives changed for the better. I think a lot of people misunderstand her fiery boot-camp persona, she is amazingly kind, and loving, and under all the yelling "You Will do this" and "You CAN do more!" She really is just fighting to see you succeed, and no matter what anyone may say, "Her prices are totally worth it!"
This morning I am thanking God for his gifts, for the talents, passions, and desires that he places within us. Christians we are one family , we are all friends, we need each other. Support what God is doing around you, encourage each other to do well for the Lord, inspire one another, pray for one another, most importantly LOVE one another. So that together we can change this world
ALL FOR HIS GLORY!!!
